Kate Humble, Dan Snow, Dallas Campbell and Anita Rani go airside at Heathrow. Dallas is at the controls of a flight simulator to see if he can land an A380.

In the final episode of the live behind-the-scenes series from Heathrow, Kate Humble is in the air traffic control tower, Dan Snow sees if he has got what it takes to be an air traffic controller and Anita Rani finds out how tomorrow's planes might offer a quieter future. Dallas Campbell, whose father used to fly 747s, is at the controls of a flight simulator to see if he can land an A380, the biggest passenger jet in the sky.

Pilot: Captain Dave Thomas
Head of Flight Technical and Training, Airbus A320 Fleet

Dave鈥檚 lifelong passion for flying started early - as a teenager he joined the Air Cadets and learned to fly a glider. Later, he got an RAF scholarship and was taught to fly powered aircraft. He joined BA in 1993.

He is currently in charge of the A320 fleet, and has recently completed the A380 training course in preparation for BA鈥檚 delivery in July.

In 2012 Dave flew the Olympic Flame from Athens to RNAS Culdrose in a specially painted A320. He later flew the BA 鈥淔irefly鈥 down the Mall and over Buckingham Palace at 500ft to celebrate Team GB鈥檚 achievements.
