Why - after the property bubble burst in 2008 - is the Gulf State of Dubai building again? And as central bankers are granted greater powers, we ask if this is good for democracy.
Back in 2008, Dubai's construction frenzy and crash offered an early warning for the other property bubbles and sovereign debt crises developing around the world. So, as Europe continues to struggle, why is the Gulf State building again? We hear from Sheikh Maktoum Hasher Al Maktoum, Executive Chairman of Dubai's leading investment bank, SHUAA Capital.
Also in the programme, journalist Neil Irwin, author of a recent book The Alchemists: Three Central Bankers and a World on Fire. As unelected central bankers are granted ever greater control over the global economy, he wonders whether this is good or bad for democracy.
