Tryweryn
The case of Cwm Tryweryn near Bala was a turning point in the history of Welsh nationalism. The City of Liverpool decided to drown the valley and Capel Celyn village to create a reservoir. Despite widespread protests, the 48 villagers had to leave their homes in 1965.
