The Archbishop of Canterbury has told the pay-day loans company Wonga that the Church of England intends to force it out of business - by competing against it.

Justin Welby - who's criticised what he claims are excessive rates of interest charged by such companies - said the Church could help to expand financial co-operatives by providing them with premises and expertise.

But should the church be mixing faith with finance?
