Winter Mountain
An Englishman and an Irishman step onto聽the same train at Chicago's Union Station and meet for the first time.
Both singers. Both songwriters. Both broke, but intent on making their way by rail to Memphis, the birthplace of Rock 'n' Roll.
That night, the two strangers struck up a conversation that lasted until the early hours. By morning they had named themselves Winter Mountain and commited to travel together, swapping stories, exchanging lyrics and singing together in the bars and clubs of the deep south.
To cut a long story short, they are now signed to Sam Lakeman and Cara Dillon's independent record label and Janet will聽dig deeper聽- and hear them perform - when she meets Joseph Francis and Martin Smyth on today's show.
Crystal Hayes
Crystal Hayes is West Country聽singer songwriter.
"I had the desire to be an entertainer since I was a young girl," she says.
"I wanted to be a dancer and came second in a competition when I was about eight years old."
Now she's composing her own songs and she'll be in to perform live and chat to Janet on today's show.
Crystal writes poetry and has taken part in open mic nights.
She loves all types of music but her heart is in Country.
