Shedding light on the Dark Web
We ask what the arrest of the Silk Road website founder says about attitudes to the Dark Web among authorities around the world.
The founder of the controversial Silk Road website - a portal used by people who want to buy drugs and other illicit goods online - has been arrested by the US authorities and the site has been taken down. We ask what the arrest says about attitudes towards the "Dark Web", the shadow internet which is a haven for criminal activity, but which also provides an avenue for dissidents who live in countries with repressive regimes to communicate with the outside world. Plus, we hear why the world's growing appetite for sugar is bad news for indigenous peoples in Cambodia, and we have the latest news on the US budget showdown. With contributions from Guy Stear of Societe Generale in Hong Kong and Ralph Silva of the Silva Research network in Toronto.
