Greenland's parliament has voted to end a 25 year ban on mining uranium - a move which could lead to a boom in extracting other metals, including the rare earths which are badly needed by the technology industries. It could bring badly-needed wealth to the region and strengthen its case for full independence from Denmark. But environmentalists are far from happy.
