Dian Fossey
One of the foremost primatologists in the world, Dian Fossey spent much of her time studying gorillas in their natural environments. She describes how she assimilated into the gorilla groups living in the mountain forests of Rwanda.
She gives an example of their belch vocalisation and describes her astonishment upon returning to a group after three years away.
Dian Fossey was murdered in 1985.
