PCC admits diversity increase in force not successful as he'd hoped - Nottingham
Nottinghamshire's Police & Crime Commissioner, Paddy Tipping, has admitted that his attempts to increase diversity in the force haven't been as successful as he'd hoped in his first year in office. When the former Labour MP was voted in, he vowed to make Nottinghamshire Police more representative of the communities it serves. Yet despite a recruitment campaign to increase diversity, the number of non-white applicants is still lower than the proportion of ethnic minorities in the county.
