South Africa after Madiba
What can be done to revive South Africa's ailing economy? Growth is slow, unemployment is high and it remains one of the most unequal countries on earth.
Nelson Mandela oversaw a period of sustained growth when he led the country but since then the South African economy has languished. It faces growing economic and social challenges - inequality, collapsing business confidence, corruption and labour unrest. My colleague Simon Jack was in South Africa last week when Mandela died, I'll be asking him what the prospects are for Africa's largest economy. Plus we'll be visiting a high tech energy firm called Moixa to explore whether a new kind of USB cable can drive a revolution in how we use power. Will Thomas Edison will finally triumph over Nikola Tesla after all these years, will direct current eclipse alternating current? And self-dissing. We've got Lucy Kellaway on why, when it comes to self-critisism we are often our own worst enemies.
