Deconstructing Colourism - Northampton
XFACTOR finalist Hannah Barrett (voted off the show at the end of November) has been speaking to mainstream media about the abuse she's getting about her skin from Black people.
She's been quoted in several magazines "People say 'you're black and ugly'. The sad thing is that most of them [the comments] are made by black people who just have lighter skin than me."
In this extract from a discussion on 大象传媒 Radio Northamptonshire鈥檚 Inspirations programme, Esther Stanford-Xosei, a reparationist and broadcaster, speaks to Mark Dean about the need for people to start seeing 'Black as Beautiful' again.
