Adult Sex Workers: Massage Parlours part 2

It's "a safe, supported, impartial space" for women who want to work in the sex industry.

A woman from Stoke-on-Trent who runs a massage parlour says the police tolerate her business - despite knowing clients come there for sex.

Staffordshire Police told 大象传媒 Radio Stoke they don't condone the activity but pay regular visits to them to see if there's any sexual exploitation or human trafficking. Despite these claims 大象传媒 Radio Stoke has learnt from a Freedom of Information Request that the force has only raided 5 buildings suspected of having adult sex work carried out in them in the last five years, while records from the charity Brighter Futures show there are currently 24 massage parlours or escort agencies known to be running in the city.

As part of Adult Sex Week here on 大象传媒 Radio Stoke, Qasa Alom went to one of these and spoke to the establishment's Madame, who says more women are getting involved as it's a steady source of income.

Superintendent Jeff Moore from Staffordshire Police added that if anybody does have any concerns about what goes on in massage parlours they should get in touch.
