Colin Evans gardening tips
Take Ivy cuttings now as they will strike very quickly at this time of the year. Take cuttings from established plants about a hands length long, or longer if you wish and dip the ends into rooting hormone and then push the cuttings into a mixture of multi purpose potting compost mixed with some sharp sand and then twist the cutting around a short cane to give the cutting support while it makes roots.

Placed in a sheltered spot and kept evenly damp your new plants should be ready for potting on in about three months.
听
Spring bulbs will be in full growth and as new buds for next years flowering are formed early as they make their way through the soil then feeding is important during the late winter months so Sulphate Of Potash should be spread around spring bulbs now.
听
Add some mulch so that the feed gets down to the roots being careful not to damage the growth being made . If fed soon the problems of next springs bulbs coming through blind, that is without flower buds, will be reduced.
