Nicolas Anelka: Racism in Football
West Bromwich Albion striker Nicolas Anelka has called for the Football Association's charge against him of making a racially aggravated gesture, to be dropped. He made the gesture, which is known in France as a 'quenelle'; described as an "inverted Nazi salute'', during a match against West Ham United in December 2012. The FA's decision to charge Anelka comes after West Brom's shirt sponsors, property website Zoopla, decided to end their association with the club. In this extract, sportswriter and racial commentator, Musa Okwonga tells the 大象传媒's Mark Dean why he thinks the response is fair.
