'Failings in police recording' of honour violence
One in five police forces in the UK are failing to properly record cases of so-called honour based violence. A freedom of Information investigation has found large discrepancies in the way these cases, ranging from domestic violence and forced marriage to murder, are labelled by forces across the country. The charity behind the research is the Iranian and Kurdish Women's Rights organisation - it is warning that without appropriate recording victims are being put at risk. The Association of Chief police officers said there is a need for forces to flag honour abuse to understand the prevalence of the incidents. This report by Divya Talwar.
