Missing in Syria

A British teenager who comes from Manchester has gone missing in Syria.

Mohammad Azzam Javed who comes from Levenshulme is thought to have travelled at the same time as another man Anil Khalil Raoufi. It is thought that Raoufi from Didsbury was killed in fighting over there.

Mr Javed's family say they are distraught as they have not heard from him for several months. The UK government believes around 240 British men are fighting in Syria and is concerned that some may use their military skills and training when they return to the UK.

The Foreign Office has advised against all travel to the country. Home Office Minister James Brokenshire says a "a significant and growing proportion" of their resources were spent on the issue.

So how do we tackle this problem? In this extract Haras Rafiq from the group Centri, speaks to ´óÏó´«Ã½ Radio Manchester and Lancashire’s Parveen Bibi. She first asks him how many people he suspects are out in Syria…
