Is it right to televise the Pistorius trial?
It's one of the most highly anticipated court cases of recent times: the trial of the paralympic champion Oscar Pistorius, who's accused of murdering his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp last year. Now the South African judge has ruled the hearing can be partially televised in the interests of open justice. Lucien Pierce is a South African media lawyer who represents broadcasters and Julian Young is a lawyer here in England. First to Lucien – have trials in South Africa been televised before?
