Business and elections in Afghanistan, and Goa’s trashmobs
Business and elections in Afghanistan and Goa’s trashmobs – wit, insight and analysis from ´óÏó´«Ã½ correspondents around the world.
Afghanistan will elect a new leader next month, and by the end of the year all British and American combat troops are due to have pulled out of the country. Karen Allen has been to Kandahar, the conservative heart of southern Afghanistan, to find out what the changes will mean for a businessman struggling to help rebuild his country.
Also in the programme, the Indian resort of Goa is firmly on the tourist map, but its reputation for chilled-out good times is being threatened by an enormous pile of rubbish. Rajan Datar has been hanging out with the pioneers of the Goan trash mob movement, who are trying to pick up where the local authorities are leaving off.
