Foetus disposal: 'Burning babies to keep the heating on'
Miscarried foetuses from miscarriages and abortions have been incinerated as clinical waste, a Channel 4 programme has found.
A Freedom of Information request from Channel 4's Dispatches found that about 15,500 foetal remains under 24 weeks were incinerated by 27 NHS trust's over the past two years.
Presenter Amanda Holden, who miscarried in 2012 and gave birth to a still born son Theo in 2011, said there was "a lack of communication and compassion" shown by many trusts to parents.
