Marina Abramovic, Derek Walcott and Concha Buika

'My role is receiver and sender at the same time' - Marina Abramovic

The Nobel prize-winning poet Derek Walcott reflects on the tensions of conflicting identities and notions of home, in conversation with the poet Paul Farley, who visited the Nobel Laureate at his home on St Lucia. Marina Abramovic, the self-proclaimed 'grandmother of performance art', discusses the dangers of her art, and best-selling author Joanne Harris shares her tips on writing good characters.

Gina Campbell, daughter of the legendary speed icon Donald Campbell, explains the special meaning that Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue carries for her. The composer Nitin Sawhney collaborates with the fiery Spanish singer Concha Buika, and we travel to Mumbai to learn about the growing Indian interest in western classical music.

The legendary jazz musician George Benson reveals his all-time favourite Marvin Gaye song. Turkish writer Orhan Pamuk subjects Turkish culture and his own writing to Freudian analysis, in conversation with Philip Dodd - and reflects on the resurgence of religious signs and symbols in his work. Gina Williams, the Australian Aboriginal singer-songwriter shares a dream of singing in the lost Noongar language and explains how it can help heal the past.
