Poet John Greening discusses Dylan Thomas’ friendship with fellow Swansea poet Vernon Watkins. Both were members of the ‘Kardomah Gang’- a group of poets and artists who met in the Kardomah Café in 1930’s Swansea. Dylan was supposed to be best man at the Watkins’ wedding, but failed to show up. Despite this their friendship prospered. Vernon Watkins’ wife, Gwen remembers Dylan Thomas’ abilities as a cadger.
