Co-Operative Group says jobs will be lost to save money
The Co-Operative says it will have to cut jobs as part of a hundred million pounds worth of savings this year. Its interim Chief Executive Richard Pennycook refused to put a number on the job losses but in an interview with 5live he didn't reject the question of whether it be in the thousands. The Co-Operative Group lost two and a half billion pounds last year and has embarked on a process of closing unprofitable stores many of which used to be part of the Somerfield
