Colombia's Drug War and Condoms in Ethiopia
Frank Gardner inspects the new hovercraft helping the Colombian Army beat the drug trade in Putumayo. And, James Jeffrey explores dilemmas over aid v advertising in Addis Ababa
大象传媒 Security Correspondent Frank Gardner is out and about in the Amazonian town of Puerto Leguizamo, in the south of Colombia. He inspects the new hovercraft (made in Britain!) helping the Army and Navy beat back the drug trade, and enjoys - if that's the right word - a night out with the staff of the local army base. In Addis Ababa, capital of Ethiopia, James Jeffrey is exploring how dilemmas over aid versus advertising are played out in one very special sector of the economy - the market for condoms. What makes them appealing to consumers - and how much could, or should, they be sold for?
