Victoria College, Jersey: VCs Won By Former Pupils
Victoria College is steeped in history and all five of its houses are named after recipients of the Victoria Cross (VC).
The VC is the highest military honour for gallantry and valour in the face of the enemy awarded to British and Commonwealth servicemen.
Two school houses – Bruce and Diarmid – remember former pupils who won VCs in World War One. Their names and photos line the walls of the school and every year the school marches past the memorial to the 131 staff and pupils who died in WW1 – the Sir Galahad Statue.
