It's 20 years since the Rwandan Genocide and on Tuesday 7th May 2014 the University of Bedfordshire held a special commemorative event.

The Rwandan Genocide saw the mass slaughter of Tutsi and moderate Hutu people by members of the Hutu majority.

During the 100-day period between half a million and a million Rwandans were killed, as much as 20% of the country's total population.

Students Andrew Webster and Farnoush Mianegi were involved in the event, and in this extract they talk to presenter Nesta McGregor about how the story of the genocide was made real for them…
