June 1963
- Hampshire police were searching for a suspect after a triple murder in Portsmouth.
- The UK was learning about the affair between John Profumo and Christine Keeler.
- Cassius Clay and Henry Cooper faced each other in a boxing match at the London Palladium.
- A house that was being demolished in Westminster, close to the Strand collapsed burying a workman under several tons of rubble.
- 21 survivors were rescued by the Dover lifeboat after the Panamanian ship 'Carmen' sank after a collision in the English Channel.聽
- The Queen took the salute at the trooping of the Colour of the 2nd Battalion Grenadier Guards.
- The "Old Vic Company", known as the home of Shakespeare, which had been in London since 1914, gave its last performance in the Waterloo Road.
- There was a requiem mass for Pope John XXIII at Westminster Cathedral.
- Sir Winston Churchill arrived in Monte Carlo for a holiday on the French Riviera.
- Russian space ship Vostok 5 was orbiting the Earth, with cosmonaut Colonel Valery Bykovsky on board.
- A rain-lashed Belgian Grand Prix was won by Jim Clarke in a Lotus.
- Riots were taking place in Jackson, Mississippi, following the shooting of a black community leader.

- Fishermen from Weymouth were protesting against unfair compensation for their loss of earnings.
- Southampton Airport was home to an airship for a week.
- The yacht Gypsy Moth 5 was being prepared in Bucklers Hard, ahead of a round Britain challenge.
- The worlds largest warship USS Nimitz arrived for a stay in Portsmouth.
- Dar Pomerza - a Polish tall ship was in Southampton.
- A six month survey looking at air pollution at Fawley started.
- A steel tower off the Christchurch coast was erected to help scientists understand wave power.
- An armed gang escaped with diamonds in a raid on a shop inside the Savoy Hotel.
- Elaine Paige had a standing ovation as she took on the lead role in Evita.
- A 24 hr lawn mower grand prix took place at Trowbridge in Wiltshire.
- Cricketer Ian Botham became the first man in the history of the game to score a century and take eight wickets in one innings of a Test match.
- Prince Michael of Kent & his fiancee Baroness Marie-Christine Von Reibnitxz, were refused permission by the Pope to marry in a Roman Catholic Church.
- Argentina reached the final of the World Cup when they beat Peru 6 - 0.聽

- Hampshire Police arrested missing prisoner Malcolm Smith in Millbrook.
- Fifty soldiers from Blandford set off to join the peacekeeping force in Yugoslavia. They are members of the thirty signals regiment.聽
- A 35,000 signature petition calling for a ban deer hunting on the New Forest was handed to Southampton Itchen MP, John Denham.聽
- Senior Catholic churchman Dr Edward DALY held talks with Sinn Fein - the first time such a meeting had taken place.
- Buckingham Palace confirmed that the Princess of Wales had not authorised any interviews or co-operated "in any way" with the controversial book about the Royal marriage.
- A bomb exploded outside the festival Hall on London's South Bank.
- A police officer was murdered & another seriously wounded by gunmen in Yorkshire.
- Prime Minister John Major was under intense pressure over the Maastricht treaty.
- The first test at Edgbaston between England and Pakistan ended in a draw.
