Lawrence Wright - Boxer Len Harvey
The 19th May 2014 marks 50 years since the death of Lawrence Wright, the Leicester born composer and publisher who dominated the popular music scene of the early 20th Century.
In his lifetime he was responsible for hundreds of hit songs, launching the magazine Melody Maker, and running Blackpool鈥檚 longest running pier show.
Wright was best known as an adventurous publicist, who used stunts to sell his songs as this archive audio from former British middleweight, light-heavy and heavyweight champion Len Harvey, demonstrates.
