New Walk

Love them or hate them, they're an integral part of Leicester's sky line but that will change significantly when the two New Walk buildings are demolished.

Known by many as 'Faulty Towers' because of their failing structural integrity, the City Council offices will come down before the end of this year, although no exact date has yet been confirmed.

Currently the staff who work there are busy relocating to other council office buildings all over the city and should have completely vacated within the next few weeks.

Built in 1965, A-Block, the taller of the two, stands at 55 metres tall, or 180 feet.

Jim Davis met Leicester's City Mayor, Sir Peter Soulsby on the roof to get a rather special view of the city.
