‘Devil’ references removed from some baptisms
The Church of England has removed references to the Devil from the wording of baptism services. Parents and godparents will now say they “reject evil” rather than “reject the Devil”. So has the devil become unfashionable? Peter Stanford is the author of The Devil: A Biography.
