Being an asylum seeker in the UK is dehumanising according to a worker from the Refugee and Migrant centre in Wolverhampton.

The RMC has helped over 11 thousand migrants settle into local communities since its doors opened 15 years ago. Its aim is to tackle urgent issues among asylum seekers and refugees.

However with around 11 thousand 800 people applying for asylum in the UK alone since the beginning of this year up until May, according to the Home Office, the RMC say they're struggling to cope with the huge numbers of people coming through its doors.

Their workload isn't helped by recent Government plans to halve the time migrants have to find work before losing benefits from six to three months.
