How do you make a cult record?
Pupils and star music teacher Hans Fenger recall the Langley School Music Project. Recording versions of Beach Boys, Wings, David Bowie and the Eagles with two school choirs and backing in the 1970s, the work changed the lives of the children involved, but was largely forgotten afterwards. Discovered many years later in a thrift-store, it was re-released in 2001 and quickly became a cult hit, with the critical acclaim of David Bowie.
