Dame Kelly Holmes: Young jobless need confidence boost
Olympic gold-medallist Dame Kelly Holmes says she feels "sad" that young people out of education, training or employment feel they have "no hope".
The retired middle distance runner said teachers and mentors had to respond by telling young people they could achieve great things.
"If anybody has an opportunity that makes them believes they can have a vision, and set goals, that they're good people, they can go far," she said.
Dame Kelly has set up a trust pairing up such young people with athletes as mentors to help them improve their aspirations.
