The Secret Life of Books: British Library Archive
The British Library in London boasts a remarkable collection of more than 300,000 original manuscripts. It was little surprise, then, that 大象传媒 Four series The Secret Life of Books - which uses manuscripts to delve deeper into classic works - should have filmed a number of texts there.
In an exclusive interview for 大象传媒 Arts, curator Jamie Andrews, Head of English and Drama Collections at the library, goes into the heart of their archive to show off more of the marvels within.
As he displays original texts for William Blake鈥檚 London, JG Ballard鈥檚 Crash and Lewis Carroll's manuscript for Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, Andrews also explains why these documents are so important.
