Gay man: Dad 'tried to stab me' when I came out
A man from Singapore says his father tried to stab him with a knife when he came out as gay.
"Alex," (not his real name), said his parents thought he was "ill" and sent him to an asylum after he told them about his sexuality in 1998.
It comes after a US teenager Daniel Pierce was attacked by his family for being gay - an incident that was filmed and watched millions of times online.
