Hundreds escape from Vietnam drug rehabilitation centre
At least 400 drug addicts have escaped from a rehabilitation centre in northern Vietnam where they were receiving compulsory treatment. About 30 eventually returned voluntarily. Police are now looking for the rest. Human rights groups have long criticised drug treatment in Vietnam, saying the rehabilitation centres are effectively labour camps.
