John Cleese: TV bosses should give comics more freedom
John Cleese says TV bosses should stop "micromanaging" young comedians and allow them to be "spontaneous" when making programmes.
The 74-year-old comedian said the freedom given when making Monty Python allowed it to become the "original" programme it was.
He said, "They try to control everything despite the fact they have no experience at all doing comedy.
"I'd just get hold of people I think are funny... and say to them, go away for a weekend and come up with something funny".
