The young police volunteers improving their career prospects as they help keep communities safe

It's been described as a ground-breaking partnership - and it's also raised concerns about policing on the cheap, but a group of teenagers in Loughborough insist their work as police volunteers is improving their career prospects. Around 70 students from Loughborough college are expected to volunteer this year, helping officers with crime prevention and road safety. Their role could be anything from handing out leaflets to offering advice on protecting property. They鈥檙e studying public service, and hope their work supporting police officers will help them stand out in a competitive job market. Jo went to meet a group of volunteers who were on campus at Loughborough University offering new students crime prevention advice:
