A sneaky peek behind the doors at Stoneywell Leicestershire's first National Trust property. (PART 2)
We went through the keyhole of Leicestershire's first National Trust property. Stoneywell is an arts and crafts house and garden in Ulverscroft, and was designed in 1899 by renowned Leicester architect Ernest Gimson. He built the Grade two listed building as a holiday home for his brother and is thought to be the only cottage of its type in the county and was bought by the National Trust last year. Well, Jim went to have sneaky preview of this grand old building ahead of it's opening to the public in February next year.
