World War One and Imperialism
Did a debate on imperialism in India adequately reflect the views of audiences in Delhi?
Since June the ´óÏó´«Ã½ have been broadcasting The War That Changed The World – a series of debates held in countries involved in the conflict. In each country, a panel of historians is joined by an audience of local people. This week on Over to You, Rajan Datar is joined by two members of the audience from the most recent debate, held in Delhi, India. How well did they feel the discussion about the impact of World War I on imperialism reflected their views? They put their points to the series producer Charlie Taylor.
And, Munazza Khan, producer of The Conversation, a new ´óÏó´«Ã½ World Service programme exploring the success stories of two women from around the world who work in similar fields, answers questions from listeners. How do the programme makers define ‘success’?
