Imagine Lionel Messi at the peak of his powers leaving the prospect of yet more silverwear with Barcelona to return to his boyhood club Newell's Old Boys, or perhaps Cristiano Ronaldo going back to Sporting Lisbon with the mission of winning their first title for 12 years.

But as homecomings go what happened at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio, on Thursday night was much much bigger when it witnessed the return of King James.
