Restored war memorial in Leire (PART 1)
A war memorial at St Peter's Church in Leire has been restored. It was brought back to its former glory after villagers raised funds of over 拢1,600 which actually left them with a bit extra leaving them enough to create a dedicated book of remembrance. The contents of the book were compiled by local historian Carol Cambers. Jim went to meet her at St Peters and she told him about the seven men from Leire who died serving their country in the First World War and whose names appear on the memorial.
