Fatima's story: Pressure of life as a Syrian refugee
Fatima, a Syrian refugee living in a camp in the town of Ketermaya in Lebanon, said she tried to take her own life due to the pressure.
鈥淚 am playing both roles; the role of the dad and the role of the mum, I am not used to it and I am passing through a lot of difficulties, I鈥檓 not well off economically and tried to commit suicide because I cannot handle that anymore,鈥 said Fatima to Phil Mackie.
Fatima, who supports her family by cleaning, said her husband is detained in Syria.
10.8m Syrians have been displaced by the war, and they now make up the largest single refugee population under mandate of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees(UNHCR). Some 10% of those refugees re in Lebanon.
