Women locks herself in box to raise autism awareness

A shop worker in Crewe has locked herself in a glass box for 100 hours, to raise awareness about how people with autism feel.

Hayley Bicker took the drastic decision after she saw a child with autism getting agitated in the supermarket, and was shocked at how other shoppers were reacting.

She says being isolated in the box had been "extremely hard" so far.

5 live Daily also heard from Robyn Steward, an adult on the autistic spectrum who is an Ambassador for the National Autistic Society.

She explained why supermarkets were sometimes "difficult" places for people with autism.
