Frank Lampard: Why I Became A Children's Author
Mary Anne's favourite footballer, Frank Lampard, joins us on the show to talk about his decision to write a series of children's books called 'Frankie's Magic Football'.
Frank's footballing career started at his father's team, West Ham United, twenty years ago! He went on to become the all-time leading goalscorer for Chelsea and, since making his England debut in 1999, he's represented his country at 2 World Cups and earned over 100 caps in the process.
Now, he has turned his hand to writing children's books, about a young boy's adventures with a magic football. HIs main aim, he says, is to encourage youngsters to read more at home, and to educate them about the world.
