The place for zoos in 2015
When did you last visit a zoo? They are a place of fun, entertainment, education and conservation - but should wild animals be in the wild? Jim hears both sides of the argument.
Do we need zoos in 2015? Jim talks to Chris Draper from the Born Free Foundation about protecting wild animals - and their natural habitat. And then to Jamie Christon, the Managing Director of Chester Zoo about their conservation, research and education programmes. They have recently had a census of their animals - all 11,000 of them - including a beautiful lanky baby Rothschild’s giraffe, born just before Christmas.
