Chopra: 'Dhoni better than any captain India has seen'
Former Indian opening batsman Aaskash Chopra reflects on MS Dhoni's retirement from Test cricket. While he admits that "every captain has his shelf life" because of the need for a "new lease of life in terms of ideas".
Chopra suggests that Dhoni choosing retire from playing as well as captaining the side may be a mistake stating "as a batsman he was turning a new leaf - the way he batted in England gave me a lot of confidence, he found a new way of scoring runs".
The retiring captain's success as a test cricketer came as a surprise to the 37-year-old who "wasn't 100% convinced he'd play test cricket for India" after first seeing Dhoni play.
