Do we really understand depression?

Dr Chetna Kang and Sophie Sulehria focus on public understanding of depression.

Does the public understand depression?

In December ex-Luton and Watford footballer Clarke Carlisle tried to take his own life by walking in front of a lorry.

Since then he has recovered and appeared on the front page of the Sun Newspaper to tell his story.

The reaction to his honesty was mostly positive but there were some people who criticised the star for being selfish.

This week we'll discuss whether the public understand depression by speaking to people who have it or who know someone who has it.
