Former security minister: There is a problem of terrorism in some universities

Former security minister Baroness Pauline Neville Jones: 'The govnt does need to listen to universities about how it could be implemented...It is difficult to implement in its current form'.

'It's very important for us in universities to either promote free speech or have a role in the prevention of terrorism', said Dusty Amroliwala Deputy Vice Chancellor of University of East London.

Baroness Jones: 'There is a problem in some universities, some are much more conscious of the problem but there are others much less conscious about what's going on in the campus, a lot aren't aware of the guidance not already issued'.

'I don't think it's a place where you are free to promote violence and it does happen, these are activities that are against the law'.
