Sister of murdered gamer: Young feel 'pressured' online
The sister of a teenage gamer who was groomed and murdered by a man he met online says she has also felt pressure from people on the internet.
Carley Bednar鈥檚 brother, Breck, was killed last year by Lewis Daynes, 19, who lured the 14-year-old to his home after meeting him on a gaming website.
Carley, 13, was emailed by a person pretending to have met her recently, asking for photos of her.
She said she 鈥渒new straight away to tell [her] mum, and not to reply鈥.
Her mother, Lorin LaFave, said she contacted the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (CEOP) about the email, and received a reply "within an hour or two".
"The service they provided was so good,鈥 says Lorin.
鈥淚 was absolutely gutted, because I didn't know about CEOP when I was so concerned about Breck.鈥
