Simon Rattle rehearses and conducts the Young Orchestra for London in their public debut
This newly formed orchestra of 100 young people, aged between 11 and 21, is a joint learning project between Barbican and Southbank Centre, and a vital component of the Berlin Philharmonic鈥檚 London Residency 2015.
It includes musicians of different ages, abilities and backgrounds, with at least one player from every one of the 33 London boroughs. Having worked with musicians from the London Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic and Berlin Philharmonic, the orchestra came together with Simon Rattle at the Barbican on 12 February 2015 to perform Finlandia by Sibelius.
